ARCH 406 Congregation Space Render

I've recently moved onto another old school project. This one was from my Senior year. This was a very ambitious project which mostly centered around the main super structure or exoskeleton of the building. At a point the exoskeleton/super structure converge towards the top creating a magnificent space at the center. Up above is a large opening for light to cast down upon the prayers below. Why the praying? The project was designed to be an All-Faiths Chapel. This is also why many of the materials and colors are natural. Lots of grays, whites, blacks, and browns.

As I said before this was a rather ambitious project which lead to many areas of the project unfinished! It also didn't achieve a good visual representation hence why a return to this project in post was essential! This image here was probably the one of the most challenging. The is this way both by design and by necessity. Necessity because I didn't have time to learn rendering programs and design because of the tone of the image itself. Like I have done in the past I've become very much interesting in other-worldly type tones in my renditions. I want to feel as if the building is in a dream. Hence the many ambiguous elements beyond the building, the black silhouettes, and the nature of the lighting. Most of this is completely photoshop. The model itself was done in Rhinoceros 4.0. The only piece from the original building was from a clay render. The rest is all compositing using different textures and images from the internet to represent the desired materials.
